Onsies Galore

So at Melanie's shower a couple months back that Meg threw for her, they had a bunch of blank onsies, and everyone decorated one for Greta's 'Firsts'. Like First B-day, First Christmas, etc...

Well we got the opportunity to use our first First Onsie today. Jessica made us a 'First Day Home Onsie', and here is Greta giving it it's day in the sun:

First Day Home

We finally came home after 3.5 days at the hospital.. we ended up staying an extra night, which was actually nice... I think as a first time parent being able to spend a little extra time there to get questions answered is reassuring....

But it was definitely nice heading home... here are some pictures:

Our family going home picture!

Isn't she so cute!

Not much bigger than the remote... though full disclosure, she does have her legs pulled up to her chest as she goes about 90% of the time!

Cousin Invasion

Greta got her first glimpse last night at life with the Cousins. My sister Tina and her four kids (Jacob, Hannah, Cassie and Ellie) came down last night to visit. Greta was thoroughly unaffected by the festivities, but I am guessing that will change in a few months when she's more aware of her surroundings.

The kids got a kick out of seeing Greta, and I'm sure they'll make great playmates in the years to come...

Hey All - Thanks for Visiting MY Blog

Just thought I'd say HI! Mom and Dad created this cool blog for me, and I just couldn't wait to get here and add in my thoughts. Not sure I was digging the whole Mary Lou nickname, so I am glad I'm finally here with my real name Greta Josephine Hansbauer. Seriously Mom/Dad, if my last name wasn't hard enough, you had to make my middle name Josephine? It took me 10 minutes just to type that and spell it right.

Anyway, I thought I'd share with all of you some pictures from my first day outside my mom. IT was pretty crazy day... Mom went in for a normal check-up, and the doc went all crazy on her and made her go to the hospital to check her blood pressure and draw some blood (and geez, after my time in the nursery today, let me tell you needles are no fun!)

Well, the results came back with some sort of low blood count, next thing I know, they're pushing and pulling on me and yanking me out through mom's belly... that is not how I was told tihngs were going to go... but oh well I'm here now. This picture was right before it all went down.. you can tell because Mom is still smiling, she had no idea what was coming next!

And here is one of Dad... can someone tell me if he always dresses so fashionably?

And here I am... all 7 lbs, 10 oz, and 20.5 inches of me... I sure wish I could have gotten cleaned up a bit before my first picture got posted on the web... oh well... I guess that's the life of a superstar.

And what would a first day be without some visitors? I can't wait for tomorrow... I am looking forward to meeting all of you... and I know I'll get to meet a bunch of you, as the phone was ringing off the hook as the word started spreading! Here are some pics of me with Mom, Gramps and Grandma. See you all soon!!!

Not Much Room Left

You may remember back in June... right around 20 weeks, we did a time lapse video. And way back then, it seemed like there had been a lot of progress... check that video out here

Well.. now we're at week 37, and Mary Lou doesn't have much room left! I know Melanie is getting uncomfortable, and I am sure that little Mary Lou is as well... check out the updated video below and 'see how she grows!'

houston, we have a carseat!

the baby can officially come now. joe put the carseat in our car yesterday. this was becoming a major battle between the two of us. i wanted it in, mainly just to be able to cross one more thing off my list of things to do before the baby comes. and of all the things on the list (hang a curtain, pack slippers in hospital bag, etc), the carseat seemed like a pretty high priority. joe, on the other hand, thought he would just wait until AFTER the baby was born to put the carseat in. he figured he'd be "bored" hanging out at the hospital with the baby and me, and what better time to sneak away and install the carseat.

i don't know how i won this battle, but i did.

and all day today i've been looking back to the backseat at that carseat and smiling. i can't believe there is a CARSEAT in our car. soon there will be a baby in it. now i just need to pack my slippers for the hospital and we'll be all set.
