4d ultrasound

we went to my doctor's office for a 4d ultrasound for baby #3. you might remember that we did this with greta and with otto, so we were really looking forward to seeing what this baby might look like. we actually went last week as well, but the baby had her arms and hands in front of her face and WOULD NOT move them. the ultrasound tech was calling her, "shy".....let's hope for shy instead of uncooperative.
anyway, we went back again this week and got some decent pictures of her. these ultrasounds are truly amazing. at the beginning of the ultrasound, the baby was opening and closing her mouth, which was neat to watch. and the picture of her legs and feet is pretty neat....i like how she has her ankles crossed.
it's hard to tell who she looks like, but it will be neat when we get to see her in real life (only 7 more weeks!).

4d ultrasound

so i had a a 4d ultrasound yesterday. you might remember when we did this with greta....ultrasounds are so cool just in general, since you get to see pictures of your baby and find out how he/she is developing. the 4d ultrasound is just amazing....you are actually able to see what the baby looks like, watch it move, etc.

joe, greta, and i were all amazed at the sight of our little guy. he was sleeping and kept scrunching up his face as if we were disturbing his nap. he opened his eyes a few times (you can see that in a few of the images), and he had his arms folded up near his face. you can see his elbow in most of the pics.

check out the slideshow below for some of the images from yesterday. you can just watch the slideshow as is, or click on the picture to see the images a bit larger. what do you think....does he look like greta? joe and i have differing opinions. either way, he's cute as a button and growing right on schedule.

4D Miracle

Okay... so in case people aren't familiar, I am sure you've all seen the traditional 2 dimensional ultrasound (if not you can go back in this blog to see some images from earlier in the pregnancy). This morning we went in for a Four Dimensional ultra sound... I HIGHLY recommend it... It's a bit pricey $100+, and most insurance companies don't cover it. But being able to see the images in 4D (Width, Length, Depth, and Time...i.e. movie) is so amazing. It's another step in that realization that this is real (if Melanie's growing stomach isn't enough of a daily reminder).

10 more weeks to go!

So here are a few shots (3D, sorry no movie, maybe later) from our ultrasound. Mary Lou is one fine looking baby!

Here is one of the baby all scrunched up.. the head is just out of view and you can see her arm/hand/legs.

This next one is what I call Mary Lou Karate Chop... stand back when she gets fiesty! You can see her arm in front of her face getting ready to give a nice backhand chop. You can also see the embilical cord going across her stomach.

We've got a bunch more, but I'll provide this last one... it's my favorite. Mary Lou, naping away!
