drawing

greta has been drawing more and more representational pictures lately. the other day she drew a ladder (bottom photo). then she drew a "therm-monitor". we have been watching frosty the snowman and she is sort of obsessed with how frosty melts when the "therm-monitor" gets red. you can see her thermometer drawing in the middle photo.....see the really bold red line!!
the drawing them morphed into an apple tree, complete with leaves and a brown trunk. i love it. i just love watching her create and draw things from her own mind....

happy father's day

here are greta and otto making a father's day card for their papa. this lasted for about a minute and a half. then otto started throwing crayons....which made greta cry because she was trying to color. and then otto was crying because he wanted the crayons again....to throw on the floor. maybe trying to color a picture together immediately after naptime but BEFORE snack wasn't such a good idea. happy father's day to the best papa around!

coloring

here are two videos of greta coloring. we actually colored with crayons and markers this time, and she colored for about 20 minutes or so. i was impressed. she was also full of conversation. check her out saying mama, uh oh, and her version of "ella".

coloring

i thought it would be fun to color postcards for greta's uncle john....greta thought this would be fun too. for about 15 seconds. then she decided it would be more fun to simultaneously chew on the crayons and look at mommy to see what the reaction would be.
