Day 3 - First Day in Austin

We made it to Austin! Greta again rocked it out on the ride from Dallas to Austin. Even with a detour that slowed the progress, she slept right through, waking up just as we were getting to the hotel.

After a quick stay in the room, and time to get Greta some lunch, we made our way out... First Greta had to try on her sunglasses... she is in Austin, it's time to get cool!

We then headed off to our favorite Austin Intersection... 6th and Lamar. At this intersection you've got Waterloo Records, Waterloo Ice House, REI, Book People, Whole Foods and Amy's Ice Cream. It's always one of our first stops. We got a quick lunch at Waterloo Ice House:

Then headed to REI to pick up a fleece, and off to Whole Foods... we usually hit up this great grocery to get a few snacks and some lunch items for the week... they have great ready-to-eat meals/sandwiches/soups and the like.... and a great outdoor area, where we stopped and go Greta her mid-afternoon bottle. She's a big fan of being outside in the warm weather... though mom makes sure she's appropriately covered and sunscreened up...

Finally, we hit up the car to drop off the groceries and then went to Waterloo Records (the second coolest music shop in the country.... behind Shake It Records in Cincy of courese)... Greta got a cool kids CD and a Waterloo Onsie... Papa got a couple CDs of his own...

And also exciting was Greta's first stroller ride sans the car seat... Which she thought was really cool as she could see everything... she was talking the entire time we were in Waterloo... pretty sure she was trying to tell everyone "Hey, look at me, I'm in the stroller and NOT in my car seat!"

Greta looks so cute in her sunglasses and hat! I am so jealous that you guys are in 70 degree weather and it's supposed to be in the TEENS here. Enjoy while you can!
